New Technical Guide to Community-Owned Agrivoltaic Solar Gardens Released

A new agrivoltaics resource written by GRID Alternatives, supported by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and through the contributions of dozens of local experts, including COSSA Institute’s Jeremiah Garrick, is now available.

The Technical Guide to Community-Owned Agrivoltaic Solar Gardens provides step-by-step instructions for establishing community-owned agrivoltaic solar gardens in Colorado. The state of Colorado defines “agrivoltaics” as the integration of solar energy generation facilities with crop production, grazing and ranching, beekeeping, and cover cropping to improve soil health.

The intended audience of this Guide is farmers, ranchers, and community members or organizations that wish to develop community-owned agrivoltaic solar gardens within their communities.
