Our History

Founded in 1989 as the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA), COSSA has grown into one of the most effective state-level clean energy trade associations in the country. For more than three decades, we’ve led the charge in advancing solar and storage adoption through policy wins at the Colorado State Capitol and regulatory victories at the Public Utilities Commission. As energy decisions increasingly shift to the state level, COSSA continues to fight for clean, equitable, and forward-thinking energy solutions.

Our longstanding partnerships, expert team, and unwavering commitment to progress ensure that Colorado remains a national leader in the clean energy transition.
